This is the story of an Angel. Mary Evelyn Quinn Kent was born in Stewart County, Friday, March 5, 1926, to parents Pat and Elsie Quinn.

She was blessed with eight sisters: Myretta, Beatrice, Louise, Patricia, Betty, Molly, Carol, Robbye and one brother James P. Quinn.

She was raised in a happy home by loving parents and taught of God’s love.

She was married Saturday, August 23, 1947, to a handsome and wonderful man: Charles E. Kent (Hambone); and they lived happily ever after and had four children: Charles E. Kent, Jr (Freda), Dwayne Kent (Cindy), David Lee Kent, and Deborah Kent Williams (Rick). They were blessed with five grandchildren: Andrea Johnston (Dave), Jennifer Exum (Jim), Emily Bieda (Allan), Ricky Williams and David Williams and seven great-grandchildren: Whittaker and Harriet Johnston, James Exum, Noah and Lucas Bieda, Madison and Lucas Williams.

She was also blessed with many nephews and nieces that she dearly loved.

Mary Evelyn was truly an angel that God allowed to dwell with us for a time.

She was an adored wife, cherished mother and grandmother and a friend to everyone.

She lived her life an example of a godly wife and loving mother.

In all her ways she was gracious, sweet and thoughtful always putting others before herself. She always had a kind word and a heart for forgiveness and love for others. She was an encourager and saw the good in everyone.

She ended each day the same way she began it with a smile and a sweet loving spirit.

We will forever be the beneficiaries of her influence and presence in our lives. As she has now passed from this life into eternal life, we will miss her terribly but we can find comfort in that as she believed in God and put her faith and trust in Him, we can know that we will be together again.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Benny Mann officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, Tennesseem and online condolences may be made at anglinfuneralhome.com.
