
Mrs. Betty Jean Wiggins, 91, of Dover, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Henry County Medical Center.
She was born Thursday, November 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Elbert Lee and Lona Boren Morgan.
Ms. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Dover.
She ran an at-home daycare known as “Ms. Betty”. She took great pride in working with her sister, Maxine to take care of the children in her home. Betty influenced the lives of many children within the community. Her tender loving heart for each child was met with a warm caring spirit.
She was the “rock” of her family. She enjoyed cooking and making memories with her family. Betty’s home was an open door, open ears, open arms, and a warm heart to everyone.
As a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, she leaves behind a standard and legacy for her family to carry on.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband: James Russell Wiggins; brothers: Lance Romaine Morgan and Elbert Lee Morgan, Jr. and sister: Shirley Smtih.
She is survived by her loving and devoted family: daughter: Wanda Jean Darnell (Billy); sister and best friend: Maxine Newberry; grandchildren: Christy Jean Nolin (Marty) and James Bryan Darnell; great-grandchildren: Shelby Nolin and Sarah Nolin; niece: Debbie Holland (Dennis) and nephew: Ricky Knight (Michaela).
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home.
Visitation will resume Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating.
Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers are: James Bryan Darnell, Marty Nolin, Dennis Holland, Ricky Knight, Jacob Hunter and Jason Chadwick.
