Springfield, MO – The Henry County Fair received an Award of Excellence in the Competitive Exhibits contest during the International Association of Fairs and Expositions 2023 Virtual Awards Show. The Henry County Fair placed first in the Creative Exhibit category for their Bicentennial Cabin display.
The Henry County Fair received an Award of Excellence in the Non-Fair Facility Usage Contest. They placed second in the beautification category for their “Dumpster and Garbage Can” project painted by the Henry County High School Art Class under the direction of Jennifer Hart.
Michelle Hopkins and Deneicia Gregson submitted 15 entries to the IAFE contest on behalf of the Henry County Fair.
The IAFE contest winners are determined by judges who placed the entries on creativity, innovation, and uniqueness. All were exceptional, and we are proud to showcase these winning entries during our Virtual Awards Show,” said Anna Wilson, Membership Development Coordinator.
The awards were presented during the 2023 Virtual Awards Show on Zoom and Facebook Live. The Competitive Exhibits contest received 297 entries. The Non-Fair Facility Usage contest received 132 entries. These entries showcased various promotional tactics used at fairs worldwide. The categories within the contests are divided into five divisions by fair attendance. After submission, entries are judged based on predetermined criteria set forth by IAFE committees. Judges include industry professionals both within and outside of the IAFE membership.
The International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), based in Springfield, Mo., is a voluntary, nonprofit corporation serving state, provincial, regional, and county agricultural fairs, shows, exhibitions, and expositions. Its associate members include state and provincial associations of fairs, non-agricultural expositions and festivals, associations, corporations, and individuals engaged in providing products and services to its members, all interested in improving fairs, shows, expositions, and allied fields.
