Paris, Tenn.–With weather reports calling for 100 percent chance of rain this Saturday, December 9, the Downtown Paris Association has now rescheduled the Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade to 6 p.m. Friday, December 15.
Meanwhile, the Christmas Festival and the Grinch will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 16.
The following is the full press release from the DPA:
“We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast for the weekend. Rather than improving the chance of rain and thunderstorms for Saturday (the day of our parade) it is now at 100%!
“It is always a difficult decision to reschedule but in this case, for safety reasons, we have made the decision to reschedule the Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade to Friday, December 15 at 6:00 p.m. Please note the time change. With this being a week day we felt that we needed to adjust the time to allow for everyone working that day.
“So now that we have been forced to change the date, for anyone that let time slip up, you now have more time to get an entry together and submit your application.
“As for the Christmas Festival and the Grinch. That will now be on Saturday, December 16 from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
