bethel-swim-team-challenge-pic

McKenzie, Tenn.–The Bethel University Swim team conducted its NAIA Champions of Character event Saturday at the Gaines Pool on the Bethel campus. It was a 100×100 swim challenge for ALS.

Coach Kirsten Sass said of the event. “Our Champions of Character event was a huge success. Through donations from those who came to swim and ‘Keeping up with the Joneses’ over $1,000 was raised for the Tennessee Chapter of the ALS Association. Several completed the full 100×100 challenge, which is 10,000 yards (almost 6 miles). This swim was dedicated in loving memory to Ron Turney and Danny Arnold, and in honor of our local Matthew Jones who is currently battling ALS. Jones and his family came out today to support the event as well.”
