Paris, Tenn.–The Bicentennial Committee’s Henry County History Book received the Local History Book Award from Acclaim Press. The presentation was made Tuesday at the County Archives.
The award is presented each year to one of the many books published by Acclaim Press for the most outstanding local history book for the previous year. Publisher Doug Sikes said the winners are chosen based on aesthetic appeal, literary significance and market acceptance.
The Bicentennial edition of the new Henry County History Book was published last year and contains 250 pages of photographs and histories of people, businesses, schools, towns and more. The book was dedicated to County Archivist Stephanie Tayloe and was laid out by Assistant Archivist Beth Fay.
Tayloe said, “We especially want to thank Beth Fay for her great labor on this. We’re very grateful to her. We couldn’t have done it without her. She helped people with their stories, helped people with their research and sometimes even wrote the stories for them. She was so organized.”
