Covington, Tenn.-An historic building collapsed in downtown Covington during high winds Monday night. The building was abandoned and no one was injured.
The Covington Fire Department and Police Department were called to 100 E. Spring St. on a report of a building collapse. The roadways were closed for several hours as work began to clear the right-of-way. The building is located near the city water tower at North Main and East Spring Streets.
Drone videos and pictures were captured right after the building collapse to confirm no one was in the building at the time.

Police Chief Donna Turner said, “A huge thank you goes out to the first responders from Covington Police Department, Covington, TN Fire Department, and Covington Public Works who quickly responded, secured the site and cleared the roadway.”
Covington is in Tipton County.
