Paris, Tenn.–The one action item on the agenda at this week’s meeting of the Paris Utility Authority saw the Board make a one-time amendment to purchasing guidelines that would give management flexibility to meet tight deadlines on quotes for an upcoming project.
Paris BPU staff will handle all material orders for the $10.5M 69kV transmission line from Eagle Creek substation to the Puryear substation resulting in savings of as much as $200,000. Multiple orders with short quote times will be placed in the next few weeks and most will exceed the current purchasing limit. The amendment will allow the orders to be placed timely. All quotes and resulting purchases will be presented to the Board after the fact to achieve full transparency.
The March meeting of the Board is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
