
On November 18, 2024, the Murray Police Department received a report of a missing 14-year-
old juvenile. An investigation revealed the juvenile had been lured to Wichita, Kansas, by 21-year-old
Samuel Loredo. Working with Kansas authorities, the juvenile was safely located the following day.
Detectives with the Wichita Police Department’s Exploited and Missing Child Unit conducted a
follow-up investigation, resulting in charges against Loredo. On October 3, 2025, Loredo pled guilty to
multiple offenses, including Criminal Sodomy, Indecent Liberties with a Child, Aggravated Interference
with Parental Custody, and Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
The Murray Police Department reminds parents to discuss internet safety with their children
and to remain aware of who they are communicating with online. The Murray Police Department
would also like to remind everyone that any person charged with a criminal offense is innocent
until proven guilty in a court of law.
