Nelda Faye Carter Turner, age 85, of Springville, TN, died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at her residence.
Faye was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and grew up in the Pleasant Hill community of Henry County, TN. She was actively involved with Henry County Helping Hand for many years. Faye deeply loved her family and friends and enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee football and basketball, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals.
She was born June 7, 1940, to the late John Thomas Carter and the late Willie Dora Walters Carter.
Faye married William Clenoy “Bill” Turner on June 2, 1957, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2018.
Faye is survived by her two sons, William R. “Rick” (Toni) Turner of Vonore, TN, Russell C. “Rusty” (Tracy) Turner of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Josh (Kathleen) Turner of Omaha, NE, Wesley Turner of Knoxville, TN, Trent (Tara) Turner of Paris, TN, Carrie Turner of Cordova, TN; and six great-grandchildren, Jack Turner, Reagan Turner, John Turner, Emma Turner, Levi Turner, and Claire Turner.
Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Totsye Maye Baker, and two brothers, W.T. Carter, and Roy Carter.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, 150 Little Benton Road, Mansfield, TN, at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22, at 4:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church with Keith Nation officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mansfield, TN, with Trent Turner, Josh Turner, Wesley Turner, Nathan Baker, Kevin Carter, and Chuck Carter serving as pallbearers.
