Paris, Tenn.– Students at Rhea Elementary School in Paris, Tennessee, recently traded pencils for paintbrushes as part of the TDOT ‘Paint the Plow’ project. The colorful plow will make its debut for the public at the Christmas Parade in Paris December 8.

The students gathered outside the school Friday morning for the unveiling of the plow. The entire student body participated in the project.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Region 4 Paint the Plow project invites students to transform TDOT snowplows into rolling works of art while learning about winter weather safety and the essential role TDOT crews play in keeping roads clear.

Rhea Elementary’s plow, themed “Clear the Way for a Brighter Day,” features a radiant sun with rainbow-colored rays and bold, hand-painted lettering stretching across the blade. The cheerful design is full of color, creativity, and heart.

Before hitting the roads this winter, the plow will make appearances at local events and parades across West Tennessee.
