
Camden, Tenn.–After 23 years as the Benton County Chancery Court Clerk, Tim Burrus is retiring and a reception was held in honor of his last day on the job today.
In attendance at the reception, held in the Benton County Courthouse, was Burrus’ family members, area attorneys, friends as well as county officials from other counties. Officials in attendance included Chancellor Vicki Hoover, Henry Co. Circuit Court Judge Bruce Griffey, Public Defender Tas Gardner, District Attorney Neil Thompson, all of Paris; and Walter Butler of Huntingdon, who was former Tennessee State Parks Director.
Hoover praised and thanked Tim for his many years of public service to Benton County and the 24th Judicial District.
Before becoming Chancery Clerk, Burrus spent 25 years with the Tennessee State Parks System which included time as Manager of the Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park.
Hoover announced that Carly Bayless will be replacing Burress as Chancery Clerk. She has worked several years as a county employee and has worked for Burrus for 12 years.
