
Attention Tennessee Anglers:
The public comment period is now open on the proposed 2026–27 fishing regulations from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The Agency is seeking public input on these proposals now through January 5, 2026.
The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will vote on these proposals at its January 8–9 meeting in Dyersburg.
Key proposals include:
• Removing the delayed harvest regulation for trout on the Piney River (Rhea County)
• Ending the closed fishing season on Catoosa Wildlife Management Area
• Adjusting the delayed harvest start date for trout on Big Soddy Creek (Hamilton County)
• Recommended catch-and-release only for largemouth bass at Travis McNatt Lake and Woodhaven Lake due to ongoing renovations
