DYERSBURG, TN. — The first baby of the year has arrived at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital, and the excitement in labor and delivery is real.
A sweet baby boy, Colt Dewayne Jackson was born on January 3, 2026, at 3:02 pm to proud parents Jeff Jackson and Leslie Pruitt. The family is from Dyersburg, Tennessee.
The newest little West Tennessean weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long.
The First Baby of the Year is a special tradition at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital, and it’s one the Women and Children’s team gets excited about every January.

The hospital welcomed the family with a New Year Baby basket filled with newborn goodies, keepsakes, and sweet little surprises hand-picked by the nurses who cared for them.
