Obion County, Tenn.–Two persons were seriously injured in a boating accident this afternoon in Obion County.
At approximately 1:03 PM today, the Obion Fire Department was dispatched to a reported boating accident at Gooch WMA. Initial reports indicated that two individuals were severely injured.
Fire Chief Kane Stacks said fire personnel responded to the scene and were assisted by a fellow duck hunter who transported responders by boat to reach the victims. The individuals were located on dry land near the incident site. Both victims were then transported by boat to the boat ramp, transferred to vehicles, and moved out of the WMA to an awaiting ambulance, where they were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
