Henry County Mayor Randy Geiger announced Henry County General Government will be closed due to winter weather on Monday, Jan 26, 2026. A decision will be made tomorrow regarding Tuesday’s work schedule. Ice, sleet and snow has caused hazardous travel conditions and bitter cold temperatures will remain until through midweek.
Henry County Emergency Management reports Paris BPU crews have been out all day combating downed utility lines and trees and limbs down on lines. TDOT, HC Highway and Paris Public Works have been working to keep roads plowed and salted. With the sub zero wind chill temperatures expected this tonight through Tuesday, roads will remain hazardous and isolated power outages will be possible. Winter Weather Warning remains in effect through 6pm Sunday.
Inman School Tornado Shelter, 400 Harrison St, Paris, remains open as a community warming shelter. There were 9 persons there on Sunday.
