
Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Mayor Randy Geiger announced Henry County General Government will be closed due to the continued winter weather on Tuesday, Jan 27. A decision will be made tomorrow regarding Wednesday’s work schedule. Ice, sleet and snow continues to cause hazardous travel conditions and bitter cold temperatures will remain until at least Wednesday.
Henry County Emergency Management reports tonight should be the last night of single digit temperatures until another arctic blast arrives later toward the weekend. Henry County is fairing well with limited isolated power outages today compared to other counties in Tennessee.
Over 200,000 customers remain without power across Tennessee. Roads/bridges will remain hazardous due to cold temperatures. Henry County Courts and Schools remain closed through Tuesday. and isolated power outages will be possible. Citizens should stay off the roads if possible.
Inman School Tornado Shelter, 400 Harrison St, Paris, remains open as a community warming shelter. There were 6 persons were there on Monday.
