Nashville, Tenn.–The Henry County Special Olympic Basketball Team brought home the gold in the state championship game for the second year in a row. They were undefeated in five games at the Area 7 Special Olympics meet at Lipscomb University in Nashville. They were joined by WWE wrestler ‘Kane’ of Knoxville who was supporting the Special Olympic Athletes.
Henry County Schools Teacher Jammie Adkisson said, “Thank you to our Coaches Rodney Littleton and Wendell S. Sturdivant and to everyone who came and in person or Facebook live to cheer them on! We had the best weekend! We have some great young men and women that show respect and sportsmanship to not only their own team but to their opponents.” Photo courtesy of Jammie Adkisson.
