Murray Man Charged With Making Up Armed Burglary At Church Of Christ

Murray, Ky.–A Murray man was arrested over the weekend for falsely reporting an armed burglary at the Glendale Church of Christ.

On Saturday, March 7,  Murray Police received a 911 call reporting several individuals armed with firearms attempting to burglarize the Glendale Church of Christ.

This report prompted an emergency response from multiple local law enforcement agencies, and officers arrived on
scene within minutes. An investigation was conducted, the caller was interviewed, and it was determined that there were no armed subjects and no attempted burglary.

As a result of the investigation, Anthony Cain, 55, of Murray, was arrested and charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident
which Generates an Emergency Response.

The Murray Police Department would like to thank the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Murray
State University Police Department, and the Kentucky State Police for their response and assistance.

The Murray Police Department would like to remind everyone that any person charged
with a criminal offense is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
