Paris, Tennessee — West Tennessee Healthcare Henry County Hospital successfully conducted a comprehensive tornado drill on Thursday, March 19th, reinforcing its commitment to the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and the surrounding community.
The drill brought together a coordinated response effort involving hospital personnel alongside local emergency partners, including EMS services, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Paris Fire Department, and the Paris Police Department. The exercise simulated a severe weather event to evaluate response times, communication protocols, and patient safety procedures during a tornado emergency.
This collaborative effort highlights the importance of preparedness in a region where severe weather can develop rapidly and without warning. By practicing real-life scenarios, the hospital and its partners ensure they are ready to act swiftly and effectively when every second counts.
“Our top priority is always the safety of our patients, staff, and community,” said Rob Smith, Director of Safety and Plant Operations at West Tennessee Healthcare Henry County Hospital. “This drill allows us to test our systems, strengthen coordination with our local emergency responders, and ensure we are fully prepared to respond during critical weather situations. When seconds matter, preparation saves lives.”
West Tennessee Healthcare Henry County Hospital extends its gratitude to all participating agencies for their continued partnership and dedication to community safety. Through ongoing training and collaboration, the region’s healthcare and emergency response teams remain ready to respond in times of crisis.
