
Dover, Tenn.–Crews from several fire departments were able to keep a brush fire from doing much damage to surrounding structures and equipment Sunday afternoon. In all, some 17 acres were burned.
Stewart County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the brush fire on Cox Hollow Road. Upon arrival crews were met with fire making its way toward a home, vehicles and other equipment. Winds were strong, making it hard to get ahead of the fire.
Mutual aid from Tennessee State forestry, Dover Fire Department and Houston County Fire departments was requested. Crews stopped the fire from causing to much damage to surrounding structures and equipment. Approximately 17 acres burnt.
