Union City, Tenn.—A Union City man was transported to the hospital after his car struck a utility pole.
John Bell, age 84, was also cited for failure to exercise due care.
According to the police report, Bell was eastbound on Reelfoot Ave. when his foot slipped off the brake, causing his vehicle to veer off the road and strike the pole. Bell was wearing a seatbelt.
He was transported to Baptist Memorial by the EMS ambulance with suspected minor injuries.
