Paris Inventors Audition For "Shark Tank"

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—Paris inventors Gary and Nancy Morris will hopefully be coming to a television set near you soon.
The couple auditioned for the 11th season of “Shark Tank” at a casting call held last week in Nashville.
Gary and Nancy invented the FOOTBAR walker and have been manufacturing it at a small factory on Hwy. 69N in west Paris. Their invention has received awards for ingenuity, with the 2018 Future Star Award and the 2019 Rising Star Award from the University of Tennessee at Martin Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center. The FOOTBAR walker ingeniously eases mobility for its users.
Nancy Morris told WENK/WTPR that at the audition last week, they presented the pitch for their invention to a “Shark Tank” producer and demonstrated the product.
“The neat thing was that others there wanted to try it,” she said, and that led to another great opportunity for the couple and their invention. “From being there we now have an appointment April 19 to present to the Brookdale headquarters in Brentwood. They are the largest national chain of homes for seniors.”
They will hear from “Shark Tank” producers shortly, but she said even if they are picked for the program, they will have to keep it a secret until time for the program to air.
