Veterans' Clinic Reopened In Dover

Dover, Tenn.–A large crowd was on hand Wednesday for the grand opening of the Veterans’ Administration Clinic in Dover, located in the former Tri-County Clinic building at 1406 Donelson Parkway near the LBL entrance.
The former Tennessee Valley Health Care System Veterans’ Clinic in Dover closed abruptly in mid-September due to administrative issues. The closing left a real void in veterans’ services, since the clinic served all veterans across our area.
State Rep. Bruce Griffey, R-Paris, Stewart County Mayor Robin Brandon, Dover Mayor Lesa Fitzhugh, veterans and other dignitaries were present for the ribbon-cutting.
Griffey said, “With this new facility, I hope the veterans in Stewart County and surrounding communities will receive the care and services they much deserve. A special thanks goes to Vietnam Veteran and Stewart Countian Neil Mathis who bought the old Tri-County building for this specific use to help his fellow veterans. I know a lot of work and cooperation by a number of people went into making this happen, and many thanks goes to everyone who helped in an effort to better serve our veterans.”
