Largest Crowd Ever For Biggest Parade Ever

By Shannon McFarlin News Director
Paris, Tenn.–The largest crowd was on hand to enjoy the largest parade in the history of the Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade in downtown Paris Saturday evening.
Downtown Paris Association President Kathy Ray said there were 36 entries in the parade this year. As for the size of the crowd, she said, “Oh my Gosh. I couldn’t believe how many people we had this year. It was just great”.
Grand Marshal Cherry Jones waved to the crowds and videotaped the parade herself. Earlier in the afternoon, a Meet and Greet had been held for her at White and Associates on the court square. DPA Ambassador was Dan Knowles and the Henry County High School was honored on its 50th anniversary.
Parade winners were:
Clark Griswold Award: Sandy Creek Farms and Event Center; Most Spirit: First Christian Church; Best Religious Theme: Paris FFA; Best Decorated: Henry Co. Board of Education; Best Marching Entry: Atkins-Porter Neighborhood; and Best Decorated Golf Cart: Mooney Appraisals.
And, of course, the big man in red was riding on the Paris Fire Truck for the grand finale.
