Huntingdon District 11A Champs; Wilkins Co-Coach Of Year; Reed Named MVP

McKenzie, Tenn.–The McKenzie Lady Rebels fell for the third time in the season to the Huntingdon Fillies in the championship game of the District 11 A tournament at Crisp Arena of Bethel University.  The Lady Rebels trailed by 9 after the first eight minutes of play but saw a powerful Fillies team, coached by co-coach of the year David Wilkins pull steadily ahead to win by a final score of 51 to 28.
Both Huntingdon and McKenzie will host the first round of the Region tournament next Friday night at their respective schools against either Wayne Co. or Perry Co.
West Carroll defeated Clarksburg 64 to 36 they will both be on the road to Summertown or Loretto depending on the outcome of that districts championship games today.
All District, All Academic, and All Tournament teams were honored following the contests.
