McKenzie, Tenn.–The McKenzie Rebels won their 6th Distict Championship on Saturday night at Crisp Arena on the Bethel University campus defeating the Hollow Rock Bruceton Central Tigers 89 to 49. The Tigers came out hot in the first quarter with Mason Binkley connecting on 4 3 point shots but those were answered by Nate Whitsell for the Rebels, who ended up with 17 points on the night. Leading the way for the Rebels though would be tournament MVP Lazarick Hill with 28 points on the night. Mason Binkley would toss in 7 3’s on the night as well and end up as leading scorer for both teams with 28.
Earlier in the evening the West Carroll War Eagles, who had been seeded second in the tournament but loss to Central on Thursday night, had to go into overtime to beat a determined Huntingdon Mustang Squad.
