Mayfield, Ky.–Saturday evening, Kentucky State Police Troopers and Graves County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple collision scenes on State Route 303, south of Mayfield, one near Circle Drive and one near Slaughter Road.
Initial investigation of both collisions indicate Jennifer Linder, age 58 of Mayfield was traveling north on State Route 303 operating a 2018 Toyota Highlander while Michael Mason-Parrigan, age 38, was traveling south on State Route 303 operating a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.
Mason-Parrigan traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway, over-corrected, then collided with Linder. Mason-Parrigan left the scene and continued south on State Route 303.
Near the intersection of Slaughter Road, Mason-Parrigan lost control again and his vehicle slid into a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Marc Moreland, age 58 of Sedalia, who was traveling northbound.
After colliding with Moreland, Mason-Parrigan turned around and headed north and turned onto Sanders Lane. Mason-Parrigan continued through the dead end where his vehicle became stuck in a field. He then ran from the vehicle on foot where he was seen throwing items into a pond and a tree line. He was located and arrested a short time later. Troopers and Deputies recovered several items from the tree line including drug paraphernalia and suspected meth.
Mason-Parrigan was wearing his seat belt and was not injured during the collisions and is lodged in the Graves County Jail. He is charged with two counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, two counts of Failure to Render Aid, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, Assault 4th Degree (Minor Injury), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Meth), Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/etc. 1st Offense, and other traffic offenses.
Linder was transported by EMS to Jackson Purchase Medical Center after complaining of back pain. Linder was wearing her seat belt. Moreland was not injured during the collision.
