
Paris, Tenn.–Recognizing there are some local community closures due to the COVID-19 threat, Henry County Government offices are planning to remain open for business.
This includes Henry County Courthouse, Courthouse Annex, Recycling Center, Airport, Health Department, Central Community Building, Election Commission and Archives Office at Weston Hall.
Henry County Mayor Brent Greer reminded the public that a change in court proceedings has been issued by Mike Wilson, Circuit Court Clerk and Mary Burns, Chancery Court Clerk, regarding
suspension of all local in-person court proceedings through Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Their announcement followed an order issued by the Tennessee Supreme Court.”
In an earlier press release, Circuit Court Clerk Mike Wilson urged, “If you have any questions about an upcoming court date, please follow up with your attorney or call the appropriate court clerk’s office. We will be glad to assist you. Each court clerk will maintain normal office hours
during this period.”
Mayor Greer said, “The COVID-19 is having a major impact on our county and it is my intent to continue to make county government services available as long as possible. The situaQon is changing very rapidly and we will continue to monitor information as it becomes available to make the most informed decisions for public safety and convenience.”
Henry County Emergency Management Director Ron Watkins said, “I am very impressed with how our community partners have been planning and responding to this threat. Local city and county officials are working closely together and with the Governors Office, Tennessee Department of Health and Tennessee Emergency Management to insure the most current informaQon is available to make the best decisions. Although, Henry County does not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19, it is important for the public to continue to follow CDC guidelines to limit potential exposure during this time.”
