Paris, Tenn.–Speaking to a large crowd that gathered inside their vehicles for Easter Services at the Henry County Fairgrounds, Brother Randy Stephens of the Van Dyke Church of Christ told everyone, “It really is going to be O.K.”
At the close of the service, instead of the usual handshakes and hugs, everyone honked the horns of their vehicles in appreciation.
Brother Stephens was joined by Jason Wimberley as song leader for the service. Wimberley sang several hymns, including “Because He Lived”, “Amazing Grace” and to close the services, “Jesus Loves Me.”
“This is a first for me”, Wimberley said. “I’ve never read outside and never to cars.”
Brother Stephens said, “This is a very special day at the Henry County Fairgrounds in Paris, Tennessee”. He told the story of ‘Resurrection Sunday’ and spoke of the experience everyone is currently sharing because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He thanked the ‘people on the front lines’ of the crisis and asked everyone to recite ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ while thinking of the people important in their hearts.
“On this cloudy day at the Henry County Fairgrounds in Paris, Tennessee,” Brother Stephens said, “We have the privilege of knowing what God did for us.”
