Rhea Library Reopening Plan Includes Special Times For Elderly and Vulnerable

Paris, Tenn.–W.G. Rhea Library in Paris will be open to the public beginning Monday, May 4.

Director Kathy Collins has announced guidelines and extra precautions that will be in place, including special times for elderly and vulnerable patrons to come to the library and limited hours of operation.

–Library open to the public with EXTRA PRECAUTIONS and provided adequate public area
sanitation supplies are available. Library services for the general public provided on a
limited schedule to allow for enhanced cleaning and social distancing accommodations.

–Patrons will be encouraged to reserve and request books by phone, online or through
Facebook before check-out; limiting actual time spent in the building and limiting the
number of people in the building at one time. Social distancing provisions will be in
place and public seating will be limited to 6ft. apart in designated seating areas.

–A total of 7 computers will be available for public use and by appointment only. Usage
will be limited to unemployment applications, job searches, homework, emails, or any
work-related activity. The 50-minute time limit to be strictly enforced. Computers and
peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.) will be disinfected according to manufacturer’s
guidelines after each use.

–One public use computer station will be designated for testing and Census use only.
Disinfecting guidelines stated above will be in place after each use.

–Meeting room will not be available.

–Library programs will still be restricted to online and passive formats.

–Limited hours as follows:

Monday – Friday
9 am – 11 am for Elderly and Vulnerable Patrons

Monday-Friday

11:00 am – 5:00 pm
ALL PATRONS

Frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected hourly or as needed after each use.
