Dover, Tenn.–A Wednesday night fire in Dover claimed one life and the fire is under investigation.
Stewart County Fire & Rescue and the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on General Buckner Rd. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire conditions from the rear of the house and basement area, as well as some partial structural collapse.
Extensive fire suppression and search operations were conducted. Fire offficials said at this time, one person was found deceased. The State Fire Marshall’s office is assisting with the investigation.
Mutual aid was provided by the Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery County Fire Department.
