Henry, Tenn.–The blaze at the Sigma Renew 360 plastics recycling plant continues in Henry this afternoon as firefighters from a number of surrounding fire departments continue to battle it. The former Mark 1 plant remains fully engulfed in flames and the fire scene is so huge it is showing up on weather radar. It can be seen for miles around.
The plant was evacuated earlier and no injuries have been reported.
Henry Police Chief Ricky Wade said earlier Mark I Drive is currently shut down between Pioneer Road and Derrington Avenue and that the public should avoid the area.
Fire departments providing mutual aid to the Henry Volunteer Fire Department include Paris Fire Department, Paris Landing, Ore Springs-Como, Carroll County Fire, McKenzie Fire, and Mansfield.
