Henry, Tenn.–A Tennessee National Guard helicopter has been assisting response efforts at the Henry County industrial fire by conducting water drops on hotspots inaccessible to ground crews. The helicopter was in the area supporting training operations in the region.
Using Bambi buckets, crews completed multiple aerial drops in coordination with local responders as firefighting operations continued overnight.
Among those responding was the Madison County Fire Department. They said this morning, “Our crews are fatigued but remain committed to the mission, continuing to operate with professionalism and determination. We are hopeful they will be released from the scene soon.
“We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to answer the call when another community is in need. Having firefighters who are willing to leave at a moment’s notice; even on a Friday night to serve others speaks volumes about the character, dedication, and heart of the men and women of Madison County Fire Department.
“Please keep all first responders on scene, as well as the affected community, in your thoughts during this time.”
