GIBSON COUNTY, TN- Defendant Joshua Todd was escorted off the witness stand during an Aggravated Assault jury trial in Gibson County Circuit Court Thursday due to continuous unruly and disruptive behavior in the courtroom.
District Attorney General Frederick H. Agee said, “We want to thank Courtroom Officers: Deputies Adrian Sturdivant, Twila Claybon, Christine Combs, Cordale Dance, and Hunter Long for their work yesterday in a Gibson County Circuit Court Jury Trial. They had a difficult task in managing the courtroom with an unruly defendant. Defendants have a right to a jury trial; they do not have a right to disrupt the orderly administration of justice. We appreciate the officers’ public service to maintain courtroom decorum and keep everyone, including defendants, safe during jury trials.”
